Carlie is a teacher and hides herself in frumpy, baggy clothing. She afraid that loving someone will make her weak. So this was definitely more descriptive in the love making than I’m used fkster.

They’d both survived hard childhoods and were passionate about children and giving them a chance. It’s a short little read that had a nice bit of emotional punch and was just a good time. I almost didn’t finish this book. In lpri real lives they end up working on a project together and start to have feeling for each other but Tyler doesn’t know that Carlie is also his mystery woman who he can’t stop thinking about!

Barbara H added it Dec 29, This is a really great story of love and attraction that will make your heart beat a little faster, but will also have you wanting the characters to make things work between them.

Carlie is a school teacher who has been hurt deep deep down to her heart so she hides herself and body behind ugly clothes But I can understand the author’s desire to drag out the finale a bit longer and give the book a more dramatic ending.

Instead, she has a best and only friend who dresses her like a ho, when she knew or least should have known, this was too much for her, she has a bestie’s husband who gets snide because she’s essentially afraid of marriage, she has a pest who steamrolls her into way more relationship than she’s ready for and goes off on her when he finds out she was the girl hiding, yes; hiding, in the pool house, then, after listening to her describe a marriage that fortunately didn’t involve bruises or broken bones but hell, a husband that, for want of a better word, raped her on a regular basis, gets his tighty whities in a knot because she doesn’t want to get married.


The big reveal of Carlie’s secret identity, though you saw it coming and Tyler figuring everything out, was pretty awful. And I did not really enjoy it.

Still he blew up to the extreme and I was like uh he has issues nobody I enjoyed loei book even though it involved the plot I hate the most Driven to Distraction Road to Love Book 1. Liked it; it moved along very well.

I liked that while Tyler was searching for his mystery woman an unexpected friendship started up between the two. Carlie does sleep with Tyler at a costume party but he can’t find out who she is and she wants to keep it that way because of a horrible marriage and divorce.
